DO NOT RECOMMEND!! They wanted to charge me a $14.95 spending limit just to have a seat in their restaurant and eat , I came alone . I said ok I have to spend $15.00 if I want to sit here and eat ?and if not ,I would have to take the food to go even tho I purchased a lunch special from the restaurant ? They said yes . So I ordered a soup and one lunch special, she told me that wasn’t enough to sit in and dine , my food total was only $13 and some change .I said ok add a soda , then I changed it to a passion fruit juice, just to make the $15 benchmark . Before I got up ,the little lying server/owner bought me one more passion fruit juice as requested and she only checked on me ONCE!!!!At the end of my dinning , my bill was $42.22 !!! Like what ,????a $15 soup and $15 lunch special plus $5 each ,for a mini cup of passion juice and taxes this all came up to almost $50 ,for ONE PERSON !!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE , whether I am spending $6 or $60 in your establishment I expect t
For nearly eight years, our Puerto Rican/Haitian family has enjoyed from Mela's authentic Dominican cuisines. Our go-to is the rotisserie chicken combo, with its delicious white rice, beans, tostones (fried plantains), and 2L Ginger Ale. My personal favorite is the Asopao de Pollo, a pumpkin-based soup with rice and large chicken chunks; this soup was our comfort through the pandemic. Family night is often enjoyed with Mela's meals. Comfort food at heart.
I ordered a shrimp Mac n cheese plate & when it came it was most definitely boxed Kraft Mac n cheese & only came with 2 shrimp and when I told the waiter I didn’t like it or didn’t want to anymore… he proceeded to tell me it was freshly made food and from the box and that I ate all the shrimp so they couldn’t take it off the menu and I kept protesting saying I wasn’t paying for something I didn’t want even eat, he decided “we can only give you 40% off” never going to this place again. They are very money hungry and rude and food is mediocre.
