Max Grille Jerk and BBQ

Horrible …I had the salmon salad and the salmon was burnt super burnt .. tomatoes the size of a whopper not diced super sliced.. on top of what I feel is a chopped up head of lettuce. Wrapped in aluminum foil. Wish I would’ve never went there. Would’ve took it back but I live to far. So I threw it away. Disgusted

Today was my third time visiting..I drive from Milwaukee just to eat here. I haven't been in a while and the lady that made my food the first two times was not there. I had turkey tips the first time and the second time I had her dinner literally lol she had just made fish so I purchased hers! Today I had the Samon dinner. The fish was extremly burnt on the scaling area..I just scraped it off no biggie BUT the yams were so soft and dark in color that I felt like they were from a can. Just mushy and not good. The cabbage mac and red beans and rice was good BUT you can tell that it was not cooked by the Queen. The taste was just off. That being said only way I'm eating here again is if the QUEEN makes my food.

Updated: 08.17.22: Under new management. The food is okay. They still do great portions. But the taste is different. Still good and has its own flavor. 2020: Chef Anna has been here now a little over 2 years i believe. Still the best Jerk. The food is so tastefully seasoned and hot. I had the catfish steak dinner. Very good Jerk. Better than any place in Illinois. They serve the Jamaican national dish, Ackee, and it's made perfect
