MASALA Desi Cafe, Burlingame

2022 update : The food has gotten a notch better ! Good portions on the appetizers - the lamb pepper fry was a gem. The blueberry garnish on Chicken 65 has disappeared to our great relief ! This new eatery looks to address the lack of South Indian food options around Peninsula. I recently tried some of their dishes and they are doing a pretty decent job. The outdoor seating arrangements are great, the order came out fast. Appetizers like Gobi Manchurian and Chicken 65 were done well. I was quite surprised to see the garnish of blueberry on them (tbh unnecessary). Also tried the plain dosa and batura. Would recommend a bit more generous serving of chutney with the dosa and do consider selling a combo of bhatura-chole instead of just the bread. Overall, a new place worth checking out if you want South Indian food, will revisit for sure.

Decent spot for South Indian food in Burlingame. Flavors are not overly spicy, fits perfect for those who cant handle spicy hot, which most south indian cuisine can be. My friend & I enjoyed outdoor dinning, service was good. Dosas are good, loved the fact that their tandoori chicken didnt have red food coloring. Biryani & butter chicken was flavorful.

Just had the best ever Indian Cheesecake.. you can’t miss this.. The Chicken Tikka Tacos was really tasty.. will definitely come back… great service and friendly staff
