Oh my gosh is the food here good. Nothing was overly salty and it was all authentic. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant in Missouri that I have eaten at that exceeded my expectations. The waiter was extremely friendly as he helped us order and cracked a few jokes. The place was fairly busy, so if you get unlucky you might have a short wait. It was a shame that they ran out of banh mi as I was hoping to give it a try here. Regardless, it is my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant.
Wow is all I can say. I’ve eaten in Vietnamese restaurants coast to coast and even in Paris. This one is one of the best. There are items on the menu that you don’t normally see in Vietnamese restaurants. Most people think of Pho when they think of a Vietnamese restaurant. This restaurant is supposed to have terrific Pho, but that’s not what I was wanting. I’ll try that next time. I ordered a traditional Vietnamese meal — something that many Vietnamese people grow up with. White rice, Cá Kho Tộ (Carmelized and braised catfish), Canh chua tôm (Tamarind soup with shrimp), and rau muống xào tỏi (Water spinach with garlic). Everything was so good and tasted like it came out of my mom’s kitchen. It was like going back in time. If you like Vietnamese food, run, don’t walk here. You will not be disappointed.
