I hardly give 5 ???? but this place deserves it. The food was amazing, compliments to the chef ???????? ????. My mom had fish, white rice and salad. She ate it all, she never finishes her meals so that tells you. My husband had chargrill chicken gallopinto, green plantains, and salad. He ordered another one to take home because we live far. I ordered grilled meat, the authentic carne asada Nica with gallo pinto, sweet plantains, and salad it was delicious! The dessert though was the best part. ???? We got Pio V an authentic Nicaraguan dessert consisting of cake drenched in rum.
I visited Madroño after not coming for a while and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad they still have their excellent food, reasonable prices, and great customer service. We started with a repocheta, which is like a Nicaragua quesadilla with cream and salad on top. Then ordered the grilled fish with gallo pinto (rice and beans), sweet plantains, tortilla and fried cheese. The portion was generous and the flavor was great. The fried cheese was so good. The only thing I would work on would be the gallo pinto. It was lacking in the beans, mostly rice. The sauces/chimichurri are so good. A great addition to the meal every time. The service was great and attentive. This is definitely the best Nicaraguan restaurant in the city!
Wow! This place is absolutely perfect! The service is extraordinary ????. They really care about the quality of food they present and have traditional Nicaraguan dishes. I would eat there everyday if I could ????. It gets very busy so I recommend going to eat there when it is not peak hours. To be honest you can order anything here and will not be disappointed but I do recommend the Nicaraguan Style Steak. For desert don't forget to try the Tres Leches!
