My better half has fond memories of going to Mac's Steak In the Rough as a kid with her family many years ago so we went to enjoy some steak fingers after moving back to the area recently. Gotta say it was a disappointment. Could be just me but the menu was a bit hard to understand in terms of the difference between a "combo" and the "Original" dinner (a drink was the only difference), and it took three tries to convey just what we wanted. We got the little plastic number tent thing after paying, so went to the outside seating area thinking they would bring our order to us. After about 10 minutes I went back inside and the staff checked several bags and found our order. I asked for some salsa and the guy said he'd bring it to us but my wife had to go in and ask again for it. I understand the problems getting good beef these days, but the steak fingers were tough and sinewy, and totally bland as if not seasoned at all. So incredibly disappointed. I’m writing this as I stand here waiting for my order that I placed online AN HOUR ago. I decided to place an order online to make is easier for staff, etc. I show up right on time. I see people come in after me, order after me, get their food BEFORE me. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for my order. What’s the point in offering online ordering? To make matters worse, I hear the cooks in the back asking if they started the online order yet. And they say no and just shrug it off like it’s no big deal. It is a big deal when I’m taking time off the clock and having to wait 30 minutes.
