Great food and great service. Amazing service considering how busy they were. The food was ready quickly and our drinks were never empty. Our entrees were very good. Large portions of perfectly cooked and breaded fish with ridiculously good sides and sauces. The prices are great considering the quality and quantity of food. So I went here with high hopes of finding a hidden gem of a restaurant. Sadly, I have to keep looking. We started with the fish dip and I can say it is more of a cream cheese dip with some fish in it. The grilled toast was the best part of the appitizer. Our two meals were okay but will not be bringing us back to the Lucky Pelican because for the cost the taste and quality was not up to par. The look of the food was very good but the flavors just did not match. Sticky floors throughout the restaurant and a waiter that was so laid back I thought he might actually tell us to try someplace else just so he didn't have to be bothered waiting on us.
I was glad for the recommendation of this place. Kind of a hole in the wall place but a legend to the locals. My meal was awesome. I had the rainbow trout meal and the scallop poppers as an appetizer. Everything was spot on. Service was great. These people hustle. Plenty of fresh food being prepared in front of you to see. Can’t wait to go back for a meal when I am back in town.
