Coming last night was great for my family gathering due to the atmosphere but the food was not up to par. The restaurant only get a 3 due to the waiter and atmosphere otherwise it would be less. The food pertaining to the Shrimp, lamb, crab cake, grits and kids burger did not meet the mark. Let me explain. The shrimp was burnt and over cooked The lamb portions were small and burnt The crab cakes did not have a rich taste and it wasn’t pan fried to perfection. Pappadeaux crab cakes are so much better. The grits were not creamy at all. The salmon looked like a chicken breast in one dish at our table and was over cooked. My table was not the only table disappointed. My sister spoke with the Manager who seem to not have a sense of care nor urgency to try to make it right. No I would not agree with 5.8k reviews of stating this place is awesome. The alcoholic drinks are something to rave about; that may play a big factor in being intoxicated and needing to eat which would give people the bes
This was a great place for dinner. Food was excellent in taste. I had appetizer of Cajun popcorn. I ordered a jumbo Shrimp dish with corn and rice accompaniment. Very nice perfectly cooked shrimp with great seasonings. The corn was good but rice needed more taste. Ordered a Hurricane drink, that was just so so non inspired. What I did not appreciate was appetizer show up two minutes before main course. Drink showed up by third server and my original waitress followed up after I had eaten half my dinner. I wanted some hot sauce for the rice but never received. My water glass was refilled after I had finished.
The grouper and alligator bites were excellent. Servers were very attentive. We went during lunch rush and relieved and ate our food with an hour. This was my second visit and I remain impressed.
