If googled this place should come up as the first place in the United States that made a hamburger. I liked the gentleman who took our order, for his sassiness ???? I really liked the potato salad, It is truly a must try. It does have egg in it for those who like potato salad. The burger was okay. I wanted to give it a try because I've never been there and my friend has always wanted to try it. The burgers are on toasted white bread with cheese and you can have tomato and onion added. There is no sauce of any kind. I did like that I was able to ask for the burger to be well versus the medium rare which is how they advertise it. My personal review would be 3/5 stars, I gave it 4/5 stars because it wasn't a bad burger it just wasn't my taste.
The burger was simple and delicious. I was a bit skeptical to try it but seeing that it is highly popular (and admittedly, slightly deterred by the long lines) we gave it a go. We are so glad we tried it because the burger (with cheese, tomato and onions) was amazing - simple, well-cooked and a good portion size. The potato salad was another thing you cannot miss if you come here. Overall, amazing food/service/people/atmosphere. Would come here again in a heartbeat. We waited about 50 minutes for our burger for 2 in the middle of lunch hour.
Simple, yet extremely effective burgers. The meat is the focus- don't fool yourself thinking this will be anything over the top or gourmet. It's simply a great, normal burger on white bread. Foxon Park beverages should be a mandatory drink if you want the full New Haven experience. Service was quick, attentive, and happy to chat with everyone inside.
