Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

Both this location and the one south of it leave a three block gap in delivery coverage. Both restaurants could absorb a block and a half of delivery radius and gain complete coverage in the nw side of Chicago. Yet they would rather not spend the time to figure out this small measure would guarantee complete delivery coverage in Chicago. Oh well. They also wasted close to ten minutes phone time that could've been orders speaking to me who just wanted to order a pizza.

I was really excited when I found out there was a Lou Malnati's in Norridge. I did the research and found out that this location is takeout or delivery only. That was fine with us as we looked forward to enjoying some delicious Malnati's pizza at home. I had read that service was slow, but I was not prepared for just how slow they really are. When we entered the store we were greeted by an employee who asked if they could help us, when we told her that we needed to look at the menu a little bit, she said okay and went to the back. Little did we know that she would never come back. When we were ready to order she was nowhere to be found. We kept saying excuse me hello we need help. We could even hear people talking in the back but they were not interested in helping us out. Thank goodness a delivery driver came in from the outside and he asked us if we had been helped, when we said no, he went in the back and brought somebody out to help us. When you order online the actual measurement of the pizza isn’t shown. We ordered two choose your own topping personal sized pizzas and it’s barely a snack for ~$20 each. In the past we’ve been to other deep dish places where you pay about the same but the size is 8” instead of the tiny 6” for a personal size. And just half of the pizza should be enough to nearly fill you up. Also the selections for the toppings only have the option of “Extra” or “No” tomato sauce, so I assumed if I didn’t select either the. I would get a regular amount of tomato sauce. But there was none. Such a let down. If you’re looking for a good deep dish place this is not it!
