Los Portales Mexican Grill - Montclair

My Family and i loved to eat there, we used to eat there every other week. But the last few times we been there it hasn't been good. We order salads to eat before the main course. Yet we don't get them till the main course, other times we are waiting for our food for too long. We get there first and we see others get there after us and they get their food first. So we had stop going there for a few months and just last week we all just try again and it happen again, we didn't get our salads till the main course. No utinsils till we ask for them the drinks were half wrong and our food took to long. Over all I guess everyone has a different experience. But we decided to go out off our way to go to the chino Restaurant.

This is not a restaurant that I would recommend to anyone. We were denied service because I had my emotional support chihuahua dog with me. This restaurant has no respect for people who are disabled under the Americans with Disability Act, the Fair Housing Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. I showed the host the approval letter I have which states the need for my support dog and he had the audacity to say that anyone could've written that letter. I have been able to take my support dog to big chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc...with no problem. This is obviously a restaurant that discriminates against people with disabilities.

This place is terrific. I tried it for the 1st time after another strong recommendation, and now I'm doing the recommendation. The service is great. I had the lunch special of a carne asada burrito, w/ rice and beans, chips and salsa, and a strawberry margarita for under $12. And everything was really good. If I could be a little bit picky, I'm not in love with the salsa. I feel bad even writing that, but in the interest of keeping my reviews honest. 5 stars highly recommend.
