Pretty dang good lobster roll. The bread roll was fantastic. I expected the lobster to be hot but maybe cold is the way it's supposed to be served? Honestly we chose this place because it wasn't as busy as everything else on Orange Ave. It was a great diversion and I'd recommend it.
I've been searching for a fair priced, crazy delicious lobster roll for 5 years... I'm not exaggerating. Today, on a whim, my husband did a search for lobster rolls near Coronado and we ended up at Lobster West. We live an hour north and there's a solid chance we'll be driving down here weekly because it was the absolute best thing I've ever eaten!! The place was so clean, the staff were friendly and they had some great music playing through the speakers. We will absolutely be back SOON!! ???? Kid-friendliness: Our toddler loved that the tvs were showing underwater sea life! Parking: We found great, shaded parking just around the corner from the entrance.
I got the classic shrimp roll and while the shrimp was good, it was just shrimp with something like old bay sprinkled on top. The meat was cold with room temperature bread. There was plenty of butter on the bread to give each bite a creamy texture. The bathroom is on the 3rd floor so make sure to get the key.
