This place was great! We had 7 people at our table, EVERYONE was happy. Best black beans any of us have ever had. We ordered food to go as well. I’m so sad I don’t live near here, and I may take trips just to come back! I had the vaca frita, the beef was so flavorful with the mojo and I couldn’t help but mix the amazing black beans with it. My partner ordered the little Havana steak, which was the most tender and flavorful skirt steak. I kept taking small slivers when he wasn’t looking. My daughter enjoyed the chicken steak and a side of mashed potato’s. The mashed potato’s were sweet and savory. She made everyone at the table try it as she was so impressed with all the blended flavors. The reservation time online said the wait would be 170-200 minutes. Definitely check in with them, there was no wait.
Great local Cuban cuisine with a friendly service and a great staff. Have always had a good experience dinning in or getting take out. The croquetas are a good starting dish and the Tatse of Havana is great to share and for larger parties. Make sure to get a Mojito, the guava and pineapple flavors are especially good. The speciality entrees like the Oxtail and Lamb are delicious if you are looking for something a little different but all their Cuban and House specials are worth trying!
On a recent business trip to Coral Springs FL, I and a colleague of mine stumbled upon this little gem. We originally stopped in for dinner, but I didn't get any pictures, but it was sooooo good we stopped in again the following day before we left town for lunch. (The attached pics...) Both meals were delicious and the service was great. They had great Cuban decor and lively music playing on both visits. For thr dinner visit we tried the braised Ox Tail and Lamb Shank. Both were very tender and flavorful. For an appetizer I tried the beef empanada which was also very tender and tasty. The great thing is they are only a couple of dollars each so you can order them one at a time and mix it up or order a plateful. It was also so good I ordered another one at lunch the next day. Mojitos are great and their regular happy hour special. Made fresh and several options to choose from. I just stuck with the standard and it was prefect.
