The food was not what I expected. The rice was not moist..the tostones were like hockey pucks..the pork skin was soggy and the alcapurias were over cooked. This location was a favorite but it seems they either stopped caring about how the food is made or they have new cooks. Either way the quality of food has changed at least within the last couple of years for me.
I was in the mood for some mangu with salami and queso of course my husband made it happen. We pass this deli/restaurant a lot and omg I loved the fact that the food was fresh. As a fellow New Yorker this is the closest food to deli Dominican food from where I’m from. The food wasn’t greasy which was very nice! The flan was so tasty not to sweet or sugary. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Recommend going before 10am it will not be busy!
For a quick grab and go full of authentic spanish food it is worth the hype. I enjoyed every bit of my meal. The dirty rice was fluffy and had no problem soaked up the sauce from the chicken with sauteed onions and peppers I had over it. The plantains mixed well with the seasoned dish and added a sweet treat to the meal as always. I highly recommend you check this place out.
