The Tea looks the part until you actually experience it. I’ve done a lot of tea services between London and Chicago and this one is not good. There’s one tea. Every tea service on earth has at least 2 to pick from. On top of that, Our entire table shared a single teapot which ran dry after four pours. The sandwich bread was dry and curling upward by the 20 minute mark after service - I assume a result of cutting the sandwiches and storing them in a fridge until they’re ordered. There were no “scones” but instead these plain profiteroles served with a whipped cream condiment that might have been cool whip. For reference, tea is usually fresh scones and clotted cream. The petite four deserts on the top skewed chocolate-y but featured a chocolate covered cherry that kind of mushed instantly- another issue with bulk production and storage. For $25 you get what you pay for but this one was not “good food.” Service was decent but not attentive. If you’ve never done a tea service, this would
Lavendou was a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the atmosphere the most. Somewhat like Old Vintage Italy. The dishes were very savory. My friend had the Salmon and I had the Crepes Du Jour. It was very good and light. Perfect on an hot summer day or evening. I ended the experience with the creamy Creme Burlee. It was a tad expensive for lunch, however I don't regret the experience.
Great tasting food with amazing atmosphere. We have been to Paris a couple of times and sitting at the bar here feels like a eating at a Bistro in France since the majority of the staff here speak French. The trout alamandi and lamb ribs were both excellent. Our bartender, bernard, was also very friendly!
