Kyoto Garden Modern Japanese Restaurant

Was so pleased with the food and service here. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated inside as well. Really enjoyed everything but the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and dessert were stand-outs! Kids had the steak and chicken katsu and that was delicious as well! Highly recommend!

This place is extremely disappointing. Waste of $70 to only throw it out. Our entire order arrived cold-mind you we were staying at the apartments 2 mins away. The fried rice tasted burnt, salty (as if to cover the burnt flavor with extra soy sauce) and the chicken in it was dry. The two fried sushi rolls we had, had char on the bottom. Our edamame had alot of brown spots and dry skin, it looked like it was ready to last only 2 more days before needing to be thrown out. I cannot believe the other reviews, it's as if it were 2 different restaurants we're talking about. But nope, its two different experiences- dine in and take out, which we did the later. Not recommended.

This has become my favorite Japanese restaurant ever! It used to be called skipjack, but now it’s Kyoto garden and has a new owner and staff after the pandemic (I know it’s not quite over). The rolls are unique and delicious, I’ve never seen quite a few of them before. The service was excellent despite probably being staffed less than they would like. They have incredible steak which I will definitely be ordering again. I spoke to the owners and apparently they have a stacked bench of very experienced sushi chefs. They’re definitely showing their creativity and experience through the menu! I’m selfishly hoping this place doesn’t blow up so I won’t have to wait for a table…
