I am reposting this review from the Sushi & Sake Google listing, which is the same business: This restaurant used to be named Sushi & Sake on the east side but it moved to Nob Hill (a grittier but much trendier location) and is now called, simply, Korean BBQ House. I love their specialty rolls, of which they have many. In particular, I recommend trying the Orange Ball, Sushi Station, and Nob Hill rolls. What makes this restaurant one of my local favorites is the fact that they have both great sushi rolls and Korean BBQ - and they do both well. The owner works her tail off every day and I have no idea how she knows so many recipies for such a broad variety of food. The decor is pretty authentic Korean BBQ, for those who are familiar with what I'm talking about, which is the humble opinion of someone who lived in Los Angeles for most of his life and has had a lot of experience in all of the legendary Korean BBQ restaurants that defined the niche cuisine in its culinary mecca. In my visit to Albuquerque I was craving some Tteokbokki, so I looked for every Korean restaurant I can find, well I went to The Korean BBQ House, thinking I will be able to get some Korean food classics, well I was wrong. The service, was alright nothing special I got almost no help with the menu, it was confusing cause they have a Japanese menu section, a sushi section, Korean and Korean BBQ, and cause I was by my self I guess I didn’t qualify to be on the grill tables, (I don’t know why, I would pay more if it need it) anyways. The food, it was really good I wish I could’ve some Tteokbokki but I made peace with my self and I got some Japanese food instead, the shrimp tempura was really good, I like the fact they gave me miso soup to start with, my main dish was the Tonkatsu and it was delicious and the curry was the best part of it. I was glad that they have kimchi. Well, if you want some good Japanese food, go to the Korean BBQ house they got you there.
The banchans were tasty, my family enjoyed particularly the bulgogi and the spicy wings. We were not too impressed with the rib eye, It needed more seasoning. Other than that the service was good and the food delicious.
