First of all, why offer curbside pick up and have a sign out with number to call that nobody answers? This was my first experience at Kona Grill and I have to say I wasn't impressed. I ordered 2 lunch special burgers to the restaurant a try. The burgers were cooked as we ordered one medium and one well done. That's all can say good. There was a strong fish odor when I opened the take out container, yes I realize this is a seafood restaurant but should burger smell fishy? The bottom was burnt...quality contol should not be ignored just because you're offering a special price. The hostess could really use a bit of Customer service training. Try acknowledging that you made a customer wait and maybe apologize for accepting a curbside order when you don't have staff to fulfill the option. Just a thought. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. I'll take my money some place else.
This is a good spot for a late dinner. Their happy hour is from 9pm to close. Happy hour menu is nice. Not a lot of options to choose but they have some interesting dishes and drinks. If you like spicy, make sure to get the spicy edamame. I think they stir-fried the edamame with butter, garlic and chili oil. Super delicious! Poke bowl is good as well. However it only comes with tuna. The portion is not too small, it can fill me up. Crab crunch roll and spicy tuna roll are good. To be honest, I did not high expectation about the sushi here because I normally don't go to American restaurants for sushi, but sushi here are decent ???? The reason why I only gave 4 stars because I don't like how the staff put the bill on the table while we were still eating. I know he said no rush but I just don't like it that way. Other than that everything is great!
I had been wanting to visit Kona Grill for a while, and I finally did last Friday night. I advise making reservations in advance to avoid waiting. The meal is delicious, and the setting is lovely. Both the cilantro lime chicken and the dragon fire sushi we ordered are excellent. In comparison to other places, I would say the price is a little excessive, but overall, I had a great time and will surely return.
