On the positive side, the atmosphere is nice - you can sit in the dining area or in/at the bar. The space is large and open, and it was pretty quiet in there. On the other hand, I don't think you can get away with these prices in LA without serving fresh fish. The oysters from anywhere but nearby clued us in first. $116 for two with a beer, a cocktail (would recommend the bramble), the Whole Fish, and the Cioppino. The whole fish had good flavor. As for the rest of it, a one and done here was enough for me.
The food is fine… nothing to write home about though. We got the crab cakes and octopus and weren’t overly impressed with either. The octopus was a little on the tough side and also was a little fatty (which is something I’ve never experienced). Ended up not getting other food because it was just ok… for those same items, I’d recommend 555 East a few blocks away. The drinks and service were great however!
Came here for lunch after a memorial to our grandfather. Our hostess was Hannah, and it's easy to remember because it's spelled the same either way you spell it ???? Service was spot on. The appetizers came out quick, but it was a little longer on the drinks and main dishes. Food was delicious, with no complaints from anyone in our group.
