Kenny's Ribs and Chicken

So Kenny's has been in business for a long time but today is my 1st time trying them. The only reason is because my mother wanted some BBQ and I thought I'd try it. Well I'm glad I did because their dressing and 4 cheese mac is delicious. Most soul food restaurants are either a hit or a HUGE miss so I tend to avoid them. Kenny's is you read this, please stick to what you're doing and you'll have a repeat customer in me.

I visited this restaurant on 11/15/22 after speaking with a young lady on the phone about a catering order for thanksgiving. The young lady told me to come in and speak with the owner about prices for larger packages than they offered. I can’t remember her name but she offered me amazing help the previous morning when I called. I would love to give HER 5 stars! I’m giving 4 stars because of the bald head man which I’m assuming is the owner and the skinny chick that works at night. I’m not sure if they are in a relationship or not but when a customer comes in we don’t need to be standing here waiting to be acknowledged because those two want to stand there and talk about other things. I informed the tall skinny chick on why I was there and who I needed to speak to and she walked away and began talking to someone else again. 3.8 | I ordered this hesitantly as a late night pick. I went with it because it had the highest reviews on Door-dash. Pleasant surprise for a last minute late night call, or any call honestly. the ribs were tender, well seasoned, and were definitely smoked well. I ordered the rib tips with two sides - candied yam and mac and cheese. the yams were lovely, nice and tender. the mac and cheese was okay, just didn’t have much salt and enough cheese. I would order from here again! They also have rice and beans which looks good and some other greens and options for sides. If you’re in the Illinois ‘burbs, I suggest this spot.
