KanSai Japanese Restaurant

Good price , sashimi is so fresh and thick cut. They serve grilled head of salmon as a free appetizer.

Don't be fooled! First off, go in expecting a japanese-korean meal, not a Japanese one or you will be sorely dissapointed. Unfortunately I have had the opportunity to go to this establishment more than once and I will have to admit that the fish is really hit or miss. It can be pretty good sometimes while other times not meet expected restaurant qualities. At a seafood restaurant, especially one that specializes in sashimi, I expect a certain level of quality for the fish that I am purchasing otherwise I would just go buy some for myself and eat it at home. The uni rice is good, but definitely over-hyped. It's not exactly unique nor is it the best in it's league. Overall a little disappointed.

My family was craving oysters, so we drove for an hour to visit this place. For our first time here, the quality of the food went beyond our expectations -- the oysters were incredibly fresh and plump, the sashimi was amazing, and the uni was flavorful and beautifully presented! If we lived closer to KanSai, the restaurant would have been one of our go-to spots for their oysters and uni.
