I like this place! We drove from Tuscaloosa to try it out...The staff was friendly...the food came out in a reasonable time.. it wasn't very crowded. I had the blackened shrimp po boy which was full of shrimp and tasty but it was a lot of bread and you put it together yourself so it was a bit dry but just ok. My daughter had the shrimp Alfredo and my friend had the chicken alfredo... I'm getting it next time because it was steamy hot until the end... very saucy and just plain delicious. She couldn't eat it all and when she reheated it in the microwave at home it was just like it had just come from the kitchen! The beignets were the best I've had so far from anywhere...sooooo delicious! Will definitely be back!!!!
Usually we have had good experiences at Jubilee Joe’s, however today we were disappointed in the quality of the food. I have ordered fried oysters, fried hard and they have been crispy on the outside and nicely cooked on the inside. But today they were so hard it was like chewing a stopper. I couldn’t eat they. I ordered a combo plate and instead of bringing more shrimp or discounting the plate to a fried shrimp plate, they charged us full price for oysters that were not edible. My husband said the catfish fingers were not fried that good either. Very disappointed! We drove over 50 miles…
Wonderful food and great service! Started with the combination gumbo which was so delicious. Then my friend and I shared a pound of the Royal red shrimp with corn and potatoes and drawn butter. Absolutely fabulous! The perfect amount of spice, and the shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. Will definitely come back next time I am in Birmingham!
