J's Fish & Chicken Market

The food at J’s is amazing and my wife and I have ordered from there a number of times. I want to share what happened most recently. My wife ordered online and we came to pick it up. I’ll preface this by stating that I am an African American male. Anyway, I went in and asked for my wife’s order, using her name. The woman at the counter then asked if I was door dash. I said no, “my wife ordered food and here is her name.” The woman then said, what is it?” I found myself having to try and recall what we ordered. I again said, “my wife ordered food.” The woman said well I need the phone as proof that it’s my order. I had to go outside, get my wife’s phone to show “proof.” Again, love the food but I believe that there is room for growth with customer service with this establishment. A suggestion…possibly training that focuses on cultural diversity and identifying bias and discrimination. Just a thought.

The cook scratched his head then put on hand sanitizer they need to be washing hands with soap and water. Then he touched the chicken with his bare hands please have all employees wear gloves when handling customers food food handlers violation if cook uses restroom and doesn’t clean hands nails properly people can get sick
