Took my mother here for Mother's day lunch. The food was absolutely amazing. Wonderfully prepared, home cooked food. Oxtail and dressing, is excellent. Banana Pudding for dessert is spot on. BUT you have to eat the yams. Best yams on the planet. Now that I have told you about the food, let me say that the food is not the best part of the experience. It was as if I went to my families house to have lunch. Everyone, both employees and patrons, in the restaurant was genuinely friendly and happy to be there. Go for the food and leave remembering the atmosphere!
Small family operated restaurant with few items on the menu but is integrated in the community and practicing free meal for all needing once a month.
This place is TRULY Down Home Great Eating, with a little something extra special. Amazing Cooks, Hospitality makes you feel at home, like you in Grandmama's dining room. If you are in Memphis, Jim & Samella's is a must! Bring Your Apettite, cause they feed you.
