I have been to Jay's Artisan Pizza twice so far and have fallen in love. When we first went a few months ago we tried their smaller round pies as they were cheaper. They were really good but I wasn't completely sold. This past week we decided to go and try their rectangular thick crust pizza; it was a game changer. The crispiness of the ends mixed with the dough was of the thick crust makes it some of the best pizza I've ever had. We tried three different kinds, with the hot cherry pepper one being my favorite. It is pricey, but I could easily split on thick crust with my wife and that brings the cost closer to $10/person. Please go out and try it, it's worth it.
I'm upset about my first experience with take out from jays. I always heard the pizza here was incredible. I came in and ordered two gluten free pizzas for take out. One of them had such a small amount of topping on it, it was pretty much just bread. The other one was lacking considerably too. Was not what I expected for $40 I felt like I basically got two loaves of bread with alittle sauce on them. I took two bites and wasn't able to eat anymore. I really wanted to like this place.
Cute little place, friendly staff, quick service. Two points: is it authentic Neapolitan pizza (pizza varies much more by region in Italy than here)? Reviewers knowing more than I do say ‘yes’, hence 4-stars. Second: do I like it? Sorry, no. Very doughy, the edge crust seemed undercooked, and ingredients were sparse. I also can’t say I was in love with their topping offerings. Quite busy, very popular; try it.
