Javier's Sabor Mexicano & Agave Bar

I hadn't been to Javier's for several years, I had forgotten what a nice place it is. Great service, wide selection on the menu, good ambiance, and darn tasty margaritas. If you haven't been here before, you will find this to be far more authentic Mexican food than the other trendy places in downtown Arlington Heights. Javier's has been here a lot longer than the other guys. They put the attention and quality into their food rather than the latest trend. Visited again today, consistent excellence continues. The margaritas were so good that we needed an extra round, the tacos were fresh and seasoned to perfection! Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome and accommodated well by the staff. Parking: Street parking, normally not a problem at all. Village parking garage also nearby.

I was blown away by my experience here. I admit many, many years ago, When it was known by a different name, I had a horrible experience and didn’t go back but deep down, I knew I was unfair. Fast forward to today! Beautiful means you sit outside and the little grotto seating didn’t disappoint although the acoustics are a bit lacking. Our server was polite and efficient making sure our order was correct. The margarita Blanca was perfection. As you can see, so was the Chori Queso, a perfect bend of peppers, sausage and cheese-not as much cheese as others. It still delicious. The enchiladas were delicious. Filled to the brim with quality chicken and a sauce that didn’t overpower them. This is a place that will definitely be on my rotation.

When I lived in Arlington Heights I used to visit this restaurant. I liked everything, its seasoning, its music, its attention and its setting. Now I live in another state and I really miss the food at Javier's restaurant. I hope to visit this place again when I visit Chicago. I hope it stays the same or that its changes have been for the better.
