I had the chance to eat at four wonderful highly-rated restaurants while I was in New Orleans, and this was my favorite of the bunch. Environment was fun and interesting, the server was very friendly and patient even though she was busy, and the food was just amazing. We happened to meet Jacques, the owner, and he was hilarious and even took photos with us. When I go back to New Orleans next time, I'll be trying a bunch of new restaurants, but I will be doing this one a second time for sure. I had the redfish, and it was INCREDIBLE. Their double hurricane drink was great too. First hurricane I've ever had that didn't taste too sweet.
This is the BEST place to eat in New Orleans hands down!! They do not take reservations so plan to wait, but it is worth it. Everything we had was above and beyond. I ate here 12 years ago and was worried it wouldn’t live up to my memory but I was very pleasantly surprised. The cocktails, appetizers & entree were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cornbread muffins were to die for. Our grouper In pistachio sauce was perfectly cooked. Idina, our server was friendly, helpful & checked on us often. She made menu recommendations & made sure we were well taken care of. The best service we had in 4 days eating all over New Orleans! We loved her!
This place should not be missed by a tourist or a local! The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic; I couldn't have felt more at home eating. The service was also fantastic; we kept it at waters and we had an ever full fountain. Never had to ask for a water refill! Now to the food! We didn't know when we'd be back so we stuffed ourselves, but it was worth it. The cornbread was surprisingly delicious: moist and tasty. The appetizers, Boudin Balls and the fried green tomatoes were superb. Couldn't ask for anything better. The entrees were equally as good! The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the potato crusted drum was tender and juicy. This is one of my favorite spots here in NOLA. Highly recommended!
