What a wonderful dining experience! The host at the front initially said there were no tables available but ended up seating me at one with a later reservation since I was solo. That was a class act right from the start. My server, Andrew, was responsive, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food came out at just the right, too. And oooooooh the food!!! Absolutely delectable! I had the New England Clam Chowder appetizer, then grilled filet mignon with mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Paired it with a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon and the meal was perfect. Do your tastebuds a favor abs definitely get yourself over to J's as soon as possible! My husband and I have been to this place several times. We wanted a place to eat and drink to relieve the stress we were feeling while a loved one was in the hospital. The outside bar and bartender, Kris, gives such a relaxing feel. Kris made wonderful mixed drinks. The food is magnificent. My husband had the lobster roll and I had the salmon BLT... both were delicious. We also tried the créme brûlée....it was perfect. We have not been disappointed with this gem!

The restaurant itself is very nice. Had really nice ambience, option of seating inside or outside, with plenty of heaters outside for the cool early fall night. Also, even though this restaurant is in Hartford, it had its own parking lot which is always a plus. All the employees were extremely awesome, kind, courteous, all were smiling and very helpful. The menu had a nice variety of options and price points, which makes it good for all types of customers. But I took away one star because I was not overly impressed with the food. The appetizers were decent (fried mozzarella and bruschetta) but my main dish of veal Parmesan was lacking for the price of $32. I got a decent size piece of veal With a small portion of ziti and not even enough sauce (which was tasty) to cover the pasta. I think they could have done a little better. I may go back to try the burgers or flatbread sometime but not the main dishes at the higher price point.
