My husband and I went here for dinner for the first time. We looked online and didn't find a reservation available for the time we wanted, so we did a walk-in. We arrived around 6:15 on a Friday and were told the wait would be around 40-45 minutes. The bar was full but we got a bar spot within 5 minutes, and gave up our request for a table. The bar was so spacious despite being full of people- very comfortable. Gil was our bartender, and he checked on us regularly, as did another bartender. This place is considered a bit pricy but all of our food was delicious and worth it- fried shrimp, mac and cheese, chicken Caesar salad, French dip sandwich, smashed potatoes, fries. We will go back.
Excellent service fast and friendly staff! I had the jumbo fried shrimp, fries, and coleslaw! It was made from scratch with a side of, cocktail sauce, Tarter Sauce, Ketchup, and Lemon wedges! Giant open styled decor with a gorgeous bar!
I would definitely recommend J. Alexander's! It had a great ambiance setting for a dime & romantic date night or for a family dinner night out. The food portion size is pretty good for the price. The dessert was bigger then we imagined and fed the four of us. For some folks, the restaurant might feel somewhat pricey, but the environment and food portion made up for it; it's worth it and I'll be back.
