Izumi Japanese Steakhouse

This place is great! Wonderful food, service, and entertainment. My experience here was much better than in Benihana, no waiting of two hours for sitting and a quieter environment that allows me to have a conversation and relax (I hugely appreciate this). The food and drinks were excellent!!! The cook was very personable and created a memorable and fun experience. I’ll definitely come back with family and friends.

Best hibachi in Oregon. We have had hibachi all over the world and this is some of the best. The food is more than plentiful and delicious. The owners/ employees are delightful and we highly recommend!! (The soup is amazing too).

Izumi has been our favorite restaurant for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays until now. Therefore our family usually visit about once a month or so. Recently we went and they had signs up saying "18% service charge added to the bill". I had assumed that 18% was the tip but according to the chef that 18% stays in house (goes to owner) and the tip is completely separate. I asked another person working to make sure I understood because 20%+18% is a pretty hefty addition to an already high total. We have decided we will no longer come back to Izumi after paying roughly 40% of a hefty bill in fees and tips. It ruined the wonderful experience for our family. If the restaurant needs to make more money I suggest raising the price of the food and doing away with the service charge.
