Really good plate lunch. The Kaluha pork and cabbage was excellent. Mac salad wasn’t super sweet which I loved. My dining partner got a mixed plate with the kalbi (delicious) and chicken katsu (not my favorite, but this was one of the best that I’ve tried). Friendly, fast service. Will be back.
Island Flavor located on Durango and Windmill is your typical neighborhood Hawaiian eatery. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and decorated Hawaiian-style! The menu included your island dishes. On this visit, I tried the short rib fried rice, which was absolutely delicious. It was a huge plate of rice that could probably feed a family of 4. I literally ate from this rice for 3 days in a row. My friend had the combination plate with the Furikake fired chicken and teriyaki steak. Like most Hawaiian places, the mixed plate came with white rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage salad. It looked quite delicious. I can't wait to visit again.
Far away first of all, went there for what they advertise shrimp fried rice and they didn't have it. Opted for the pork fried rice which was very disappointing. It was steamed rice with raw green onion and some pork just simply thrown together and not fried at all. But the chicken katsu was good. Not a fan of the Mac salad because it has onion. Server and atmosphere were very pleasant.
