Island Breeze Jamaican Cuisine

Thanks to Mark Weins, i’ve been curious about this Jamaican national dish and stumbled in door dash for me to finally try. I know that ackee has been banned in USA due to its poisonous qualities when the fruit is still raw so probably this restaurant uses canned ackee. Wow its really salty savory and oily and peppery paired well with “festival” bread and ripe plantains. The serving is good for 2-3 petite people and this is usually a breakfast staple in Jamaica. I think for the price is reasonable given this unique ingredient. Highly recommended to try. I just wanna taste the uncanned version hopefully

Wow! I don’t typically leave a post unless my experience was either great or god awful! As you can see from the rating my experience was awful! Haven’t tasted the food yet as I’m just leaving the establishment( telephone order) but the service and attitude I received from the cashier was horrible. She kept making faces as though my questions bothered her. Needless to say this is my first visit and it’s normal to ask a couple questions here and there. I asked if the fish was fried because it looked like it and she replied “ I don’t know I’m the cashier”. I replied “ ok, I thought you would know something about the product “. She gave me a look clearly annoyed then says “ it’s baked” with complete confidence. I thought you didn’t know? Either or I won’t be back. Customer service is paramount.

I can't believe they have a $9 curry chicken lunch special such a fulfilling meal I also got the Aggies and saltfish I'll be eating good for a few days on this and I will be back thank you
