Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant

This place is apparently considered a Philadelphia landmark. I’m not entirely sure why, as the whole experience was singularly underwhelming. First, it’s impossible to get a table here on Friday or Saturday night without a reservation. When I came in on Sunday evening, I found it not really worth the wait. I ordered the salmon burger and the Pilsner. The Pils tasted like IPA, which is imho the most irritating popular trend in contemporary adult beverages, and the salmon burger like not much of anything. It was not bad, to be sure, but not in any way memorable. The side salad was a small pile of lettuce with some croutons and dressing. The decor was inoffensive if slightly chintzy. The service, at least, was decent. Not a bad meal nor a particularly great one. Worth the price? Meh.

What can I say. You see the beer name and point blank the taste. If it's called a New England IPA, it will taste like a New England IPA. I loved their Pig Iron porter, crisp and tasty. And, once again, if Iron Hill calls their beer pumpkin spice, it's going to taste like a perfect pumpkin spice.

Cure decorations. Front desk was very sweet , personable and friendly. Beer to me felt standard . Nothing really special even homemade . The delivery to hype up & sale me on the beers / restaurant was 0. Thankfully I’m a beer girl so I just ordered my beers. My bf ordered ketel with seltzer and lime. Unfortunately that was a disappointment . More like seltzer with like and a barely a splash of vodka. Over heard others with same issues about drinks not being made correctly. Don’t appreciate bar tenders who minimize the rest of the crews abilities , specialities , and hard work. You can totally see the disconnect from bartenders to its serving staff.
