Invicto

My wife is Latina so I'm used to a lot of spicy flavor in Mexican food. While the food here was good, by my standards it was a bit bland. I suspect they do it that way to favor a wider spectrum of customers. If that works for you, thus is a good place to go!

Find me a better taco place! Seriously... I'm open to suggestions! I had some good (6.5/10) tacos at Invicto but I am definitely not their target clientele. The PRICE of the menu items will keep me from coming back. ONE taco with meat (carne asada or al pastor) costs about SIX DOLLARS. For $6 I would have a taco feast at my favorite taco trucks in LA. I am not taking out a mortgage to pay for OKAY tasting tacos. Since Invicto's main competition in this area is Cilantro's and Chipotle people have no choice but to come here for edible tacos. Invicto hasn't reinvented the taco or added their own creative twist; they're just serving good tacos. Would you pay an extra $5 an item to eat at an upscale Portillo's? I feel like Invicto has forsaken the very principle of tacos - affordable food for the working class - in order to pursue a higher paying clientele. I would much rather stand on the street outside a truck at 1 AM and have the best tacos of my life than to sit down at Invicto.

The staff and food is wonderful. The quality of the food is great. I wish they would have more salsas to choose from. Recommended.
