Inferno's Wood Fired Oven & Spirits - Boerne

Saw some great reviews on this place so I was very excited to come and check it out. The restaurant looked very clean and inviting upon walking in. There did not seem to be a mask mandate(for both staff and dinees), which I was glad to see for a change. The staff seemed welcoming, and our waitress was friendly and bubbly. Our food took a long time to come out, and all 3 of our meals came out at odd random times. Taste wise, I was not excited about the wings or the pizza. They were both just ok. Both my wing rub and sauce were not coated well on my wings(LP&Tangy BBQ) and the sauce was mediocre at best. The pizza was the most disappointing part of my experience...it was one of the driest pizzas I've ever had, the meat was dry and flavorless(chicken, ham,&sausage). The pizza tasted like it had no sauce on it! I asked our waitress for a small cup of the pizza sauce and had to dip my pizza in it just to try and enjoy it. We love to support local small businesses, and our family loves the food here, but the service seems to get worse as time goes on. Today's to go order was just one more mediocre experience. We pulled up to the curbside spots and text the number like we are supposed to. After waiting 10 minutes I went inside to ask if it was ready, and the order was already sitting there. A guy walked up and asked, "Can I help you?" I explained that we had text that we were there, but nobody had come to the car for payment or to give us a status update. He said he would check. I watched him go look in the boxes that were waiting and he came back with the food and the bill. I gave him payment and took the food to the car. Well I should have looked in the boxes myself. We got home and the pizza roll is dried out and over cooked, and it turns out they forgot the extra sauces we paid for. Hopefully I can write a good review in the near future, but only time will tell.

Three of us ate here today after playing pickleball at the city park. The food was great. Ate here again yesterday 7/11/2022. I had the pulled pork sandwich with jalepeno mac-n-cheese on it and a side of thick fries. Also had a pitcher of margaritas. All were delicious.
