IHOP

Well that was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an iHop. Tuesday morning at 1100. No hostess working, people waiting in the front. 80% of the tables were empty but it took 10 minutes to get seated even though at least four waitresses were working. Once seated, a waitress took our drink order. 5 minutes later a different waitress came over to tell us they were out of iced tea, orange juice, and kid cups. We said no issues, ordered our food. Girlfriend tried to order the gluten free pancakes on the menu, but we were told they were out of them. Okay… picked something different. Came back with our food… but they didn’t have our orders of bacon… they apologized, and blamed Ramadan and a food delivery truck being delayed for being out of gluten free pancakes, tea, bacon, and kid cups (it’s July… Ramadan ended in April). Half way through our meal someone started trying to call the front desk. Out of the five people I saw working, nobody picked up the phone. The phone rang for

FYI, on the back of the main menu, there is a $6 menu, which has a variety of food, and it is just as good as the $12+ menu! There was only one other party at the restaurant, a group of two leaving as we entered. They were many tables with chairs flipped upside down on them, we thought maybe the restaurant was closed. We made sure that it wasn't by asking the waitress. She seemed almost bothered that we stopped in to eat. We made sure that we didn't ask for anything extra, we just tried to eat and leave. We tried to make it obvious that we were done with our food by pushing our plates to the end to show that we were ready for the bill, and with the wait of a very long time for her to notice that we were done, and I ended up calling her over, she was sitting at a table on her phone. I went to IHOP with my family whole visiting Minnesota. They didn't have many options but they had an impossible burger. They provided a small amount of fries with the meal. The burger was OK with the extras (e.g., pickles, ketchup). We did have children with us. They gave them the kids menu with the crosswords and coloring activities but didn't bring them crayons.
