Ida's Sandwich Shop

Great little breakfast/Lunch spot on the upper north side, the owner is a very nice lady and you can tell that when she makes your food, she wants you to enjoy it. I had the BLT and it was really good, bacon was cooked perfect. I look forward to trying her other sandwiches. If you get a chance do not pass this place up.

Ida's is the real deal - a sandwich shop that makes real sandwiches from high quality, fresh ingredients. They are a neighborhood secret that better get out, because this city needs sandwiches, and Ida's got 'em. I've had the Engine 34 Chicken Sandwich twice now, and on my most recent trip, I got the hot club sandwich. Both were delicious - freshly cooked, carefully dressed. I was asked if I wanted pepper or salt on my tomato, a detail which must be tried if you've never tried it. I didn't know! We just moved to Pittsburgh and this was the first place we ate near the area we live in. Very welcoming and courteous. The shop seemed clean and well-kept, and the food was beyond excellent - very fresh and perfectly seasoned. Amazing prices for the portion sizes and quality.
