Home Sweet Harlem

The food, first of all, is amazing! Get the yams and gravy and grits for sure!! The pancakes were fluffy, and even the coffee was good! It’s obvious this place cares about their food quality - we even got to talk to the chef and owner, and they were lovely! Good people making good food - absolutely recommend!

Good afternoon everyone. My friends and I just eat their and the food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits with salmon cakes, home made biscuits and gravy and a cold glass of water. The biscuits were so good and flaky. I ordered a couple more. If you guys love real home southern cooking. You better get yourself over to Home sweet Harlem. Compliment to the chef. Mrs. Donna, owner, and chef. She even wash dishes. She a woman that put lot of love in her cooking. Thank you Donna for one of the best meal I had in a long time. Can't forget about the waiters. They are so professional, well spoken, and great servers. Thank them too for making our group feel like home.

I went here with my boyfriend, and immediately we got there they were nice and friendly so we went to sit down as they instructed we were allowed to sit anywhere. We were brought water and the young man came to ask what we’d like to drink we got the drinks but 5 minutes later then came to take down our order. In which by the time our drinks are getting cold. It took them another 35-40 minutes to make our order. Which was too long but i can tell that the food were fresh which i can’t get mad at that. Everything was great until i went to use the bathroom and noticed the kitchen was directly in front of the bathroom and their kitchen was disgusting foods all over the floor, chicken bits on the floor, dirty aprons and immediately got disgusted. The place was very disgusting, flies everywhere in the back kitchen also, I had used hand sanitizer prior to eating if i had washed my hands and immediately saw that we wouldn’t have been able to eat there. Please fix the atmosphere of the place. Ot
