HoM Korean Kitchen

Overall the food was pretty good, but the service was what brings my rating down. When we got there they definitely did not have a enough staff to fill the orders they were getting by phone and in person either. I do remember having to wait a little bit. Overall once we got served it was fine. We got our bowls served quick but since we added the egg on top, we had to wait around 10 more minutes. I was kind of just standing to the side waiting for my bowl when I realized my egg was still on the cooktop for a while so I asked the worker if my egg was almost ready, and she was shocked and went to go quickly take it off the grill and I was served. My egg was burnt on the bottom and I didn’t want to say anything so I just kinda ate around it but I didn’t like the fact that I waited so long for a burnt egg, and the egg is like $2 if you want to add it on as well. Just had higher hopes for my first visit.

Super friendly staff!! You get a discount if you are an SJSU student and have an ID for it. Quick and easy and not too expensive :)

A hidden gem in downtown San Jose. The absolute best. It's got a vintage esque atmosphere. You can see right into the kitchen. There's interesting art on the wall and the chairs/stools and tables all have a very hip feel to them. My friend jokes that it's like a Korean subway lol. The staff there is really chill and friendly, too. They can usually tell if it's your first time and will explain to you how everything works.I'm a vegan and I always have a wonderful meal (they have vegan Kimchi!). The food is without a doubt health conscious since they have a sign in their window stating that the food inside is MSG free... Whatever that means haha. For all those vegans/vegetarians: there's tofu and veggie bowls! The house sauce is also bomb! Whenever I visit San Jose, this joint is always at the top of my list of places to eat/visit. ❤
