Hitchin' Post Saloon

1st off, this is a nice place. Clean, updated, just an all around good facility. The reason I gave them a 3 star review is communication. The first time I contacted this facility was through email, it said they would call me back w a confirmation, they did not. I booked like 36 hours in advance and had to end up calling them before I spoke w anyone. We stayed 5 days then checked out. Due to unforseen circumstances we we back in town the same day, I called ahead to try and reserve a place for our Rv, nope... Called literally like 20 times and no one would answer the phone..guess I'll just drive back and hope I don't waste the trip. But if all else fails they have competition just down the road. A slight tweak in the communication dept and this, I'd say would be a lovely 5* park. But not a bad place to stay assuming they answer the phone or email.

You list 4 customers today because you were short of staff. We came in last night for dinner and you they had 1 cook and 1 waitress. It was busy. It took us 1 1/2 to get our meal. They ran out of mashed potatoes and 12 oz sirloin steaks. They had 1 waitress running between the bar the restaraunt and the outside bar wit karaoke. The waitress that helped us was great. She apologized more than a couple times. Today we went in the bar was busy and didn't get any help. Walked into the bar and I guess the bartender was doing it all today. I went into the bar 2 times to get some service to even get acknowledged. The second to,E I stood there the gentleman was so busy making jokes and laughing with the guys at the bar he didn't want to help me. He was filling up a beer mug and was waiting for the head of the bear to settle and he said. This is what I love about my job. Started laughing .. Looked at me and turned his back. Becky M was great server, unfortunately only waitress, not sure if due to poor scheduling (NHRA race event) or unable to hire help. Also needed more help cleaning tables, refilling drinks. Would definitely recommend, good food, nice dining room. Food : 5/5 | Service : 4/5 | Atmosphere : 4/5 … More
