High Tea With Gerri

We went Mother's Day weekend so it seemed the staff was a bit overwhelmed. I've only been once so can't compare to other times. Because of that, we waited a while for a refill of tea and there was no water served. We didn't get a teapot for the table which this is the first tea I've been to that you have to wait for someone to serve your second/third cup of tea. Besides that the tea itself was excellent. They did give us a 'free' mimosa. There was a wide variety of sandwiches and our young daughter had a special plate of cutout sandwiches that was super cute and she loved them. Some of the sandwiches were just ok but some were unique and surprisingly delicious. Scones were good, nothing spectacular and the desserts were simple but pleasant. I was very full by the end. The staff/owner were very nice and welcoming. I would go back for the atmosphere and maybe not such a busy time but could get a better tier of food for the same price at the Peninsula.

For a high tea experience, I would not return. The decor was thrift store level. Thank goodness we brought our own glass ware. They offered plastic ware to drink from, except the tea of course. There is no tea menu rather you will get the standard house blend. Expect to pay 50 pp for a few finger sandwiches and a few cups of tea. Compared to other high tea experiences, this was very disappointing. .

Wonderful experience! Great tea, food, and atmosphere. So glad that we found this little gem out in the suburbs !
