Hansen's Cowboy BBQ

Went about 8pm and really empty on a Friday. Workers were not very inviting. No good bar b que menu at all. In the evening when I went it was more of a local bar hangout. It's all outdoors so did not see indoor restaurant. If you want bar b que ribs for dinner this is not the spot.

Wife & I went for lunch, to our surprise there was no indoor seating. We decided to tough it out under the misters and give this place a try. We both found it odd that a BBQ place did not have brisket on the menu. She tried the tri-tip, not a fan, I had some sort of burrito which was more of a Tex Mex than true BBQ. We would normally be more empathetic to a new establishment but this was disappointing on many levels. We decided on two star as the limited help was working hard and trying to be helpful. They did give us "free" bottle water while we waited (106 degrees) The food was average at best, prices were ~ $50 lunch for two with a couple beers. Could have done without the story about not needing teeth to eat the BBQ, interesting but strange. We wish the owners the best of luck, and hope they can figure it out soon.

The staff was very friendly and the setting/atmosphere is hard to beat. Great music playing in the background and just about any type of drink you want. Prices were typical of this style bbq, about $17 bucks a plate which includes one side. We had the tri tip and chicken sandwiches. The tri tip was decent but the chicken was dry and lacking flavor. The buns were really good but very small. The potatoe salad was good but the cowboy beans were cold. When compared to similar bbq establishments the portions were very small, definitely not worth the price in our book. Also, the giant cigarette ashtray buckets sitting on most of the tables made for a very unappetizing visual experience. Oddly enough, I do recommend trying Hansen's out, maybe you'll have a different experience or the things we noticed won't bother you.
