Walked in to Halls Chophouse to the greeting of Mr. Hall and the Sunday Brunch Gospel Choir. This is high on the must-do in Charleston. Brunch recommendations below in stack ranked order of best dishes: 1a) French Toast (if your preference is sweet, this is wonderful and our family favorite) 1b) Shrimp & Grits (if your preference is savory, this shrimp & grits is fabulous) 3) Traditional Eggs Benedict 4) Prime Rib Egg Benedict 5) Sweet Potato Pancakes Wished we would have tried the Crab Benedict. Really wish we would have tried the steak sandwich. The bacon that came with the French Toast and Pancakes was amazing. The She-Crab Soup was full of flavor, and the popovers were hot and steamy as you opened them. Be aware, you pay for your fountain drink by the glass. 2 glasses of Coke Zero for $8 seemed steep. The service though is as good as the food and traditional Southern hospitality is on full display.
I cannot express enough how amazing Halls Chophouse was. We went for my birthday and they truly went above and beyond to make us feel special. Emily, our server provided exemplary service. The food was unbelievable, but the staff should really be commended on how great they are. We have been to many steakhouses, never have we received a “Thank You” note for dining there. Thank you so much for making my birthday memorable!!
It was my first time dinning at Halls. It was by far the greatest experiences I have ever had in a restaurant they take fine dining to a whole Nother level. The hospitality is unmatched to any other place. Literally I asked what time they closed They said the kitchen closes at 11 but we leave and close doors. Once the last customer has finished enjoying their meal to me that is something that is unheard of, usually people are pressuring you to ask for your bill to pay and leave here. They asked me if I was ready to see the dessert menu after 11 truly show a different side of southern hospitality. I will be coming back as I am from Texas and let me just say Hall chophouse was the cherry on top to my visit to Charleston. I will be back soon.
