Recently moved to Georgia and was looking for a Haitian restaurant where the food tastes good. Well Haitian cooking Depot is the place to go, the food is so well cooked and done, it reminds me of authentic cuisine in Haiti. I love the fact that you taste more the spices and seasonings rather than salt, a lot of Haitian restaurants fill their foods with salt which is makes the food almost tasteless. The legumes and fish (in sauce) are to die for. Whoever cooks the food, please keep it like that, it's perfect not too much salt and right amount of seasoning, I love it. The handmade patties (pate kòde) taste so good. The only thing I think the owner needs to add in their menus is natural juices like lime, passion fruits and some Haitian desserts. Now my only critic is the oven patties, they're too hard and flaky and almost no meat inside, just a little twist would bring them to perfection, a little smooth and less flaky. Otherwise my husband and I we love the food, we'll drive 30 minutes
Definitely the best Haitian food you going to find in Georgia. However, be ready to spend a ridiculous unnecessary amount of time waiting for your food, even after placing the order in advance. Even if you place the order in advance, no one seems to know what happen to your order once you're at the restaurant. Great food, nice people, but definitely need to work on the way they take orders over the phone.
Found a newly opened Haitian restaurant in south Atlanta. The owner is nice he sat with me and I got his story. The patty is a 8/10 definitely left with a second 1. The food over all is a 9/10. They had all the menu items the legim was kinda old but the sòs pwa & rice is a 10/10, I’m rating all the Haitian food in Atlanta my flavor pallet is from Miami so you can trust my judgment.
