GYRO PLACE EGYPTIAN HALAL FOOD

Don't skip this place. During the weekend the area is a little quiet and there's some homeless nearby. However the food here is worth it. My favorite thing to get here is the lamb gyro 'lunch special', which is affordable, huge and tasty. It's layered with lamb, veggies, and sauces. Forgot to take pics, since I ate half of it on the way to the Portland Saturday market. The man who runs this shop is also nice.

In the mood for Mediterranean food and just found the hidden gem in Downtown, Portland. This food was authentic and so dang good. I will be back here many many times. I've had many gyros before but this was hands down the best I've had. Best hummus anywhere ! I order the lunch special with double lamb gyro. Such a great deal for delicious food. Great service Pita bread was the best I ever had, so fresh. Nice sized portions, spiced perfectly, friendly and helpful service. Plus chef/owner he loves what he does. One of the best lamb gyros I have ever had and BIG! The balance of pita, meat, sauce and veg was awesome…I devoured it and was sad to see it gone. I love gyros and while it may seem simple to create a really good one…it isn’t. I have had so many that are fine but few that make you want to order another one even though you’re full. The owner is good natured and even though it was a hot day, he took the time to get it just right. I’ll be back!
