GRANDMAS TAMALES RESTAURANT

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my husband for lunch. Parking lot was packed and so was the resturaunt, we had to park on the streets , no biggie. I take crowdedness as a good sign and it was a very good sign indeed..... As you can see from my 5 star rating! Its a tent type restaurant , spacious inside but because they where so packed it felt cramped. I ordered my "go to" which is two chicken tacos and my husband ordered the super buritto. Once we ordered and paid they give you your receipt with an order number and serve the food to you at your table. Nice touch. Everyone was nice and friendly. Grandma was there making tortillas. lunch and a show! The aroma of the freshly made tortillas was amazing ! Our food came out about 10 mins after we ordered. Quick service. Now for the 5 stars! The food alone was worth 5 stars! My husbands asada super burrito was super hefty, filled with tender, juicy and flavorful meat, the rice was so fluffy and fresh , guacamole , sour cream, cheese wa

I had a previous good experience a few weeks back so for Memorial weekend I ordered food for the whole family. Well, it was the worse experience ever. Tamales were hard and extremely greasy. This was a bad a batch but they still decided that it was a good idea to sell it to people. Horrible decision. Bad business. You don't sell inedible food to your customers. Won't be coming back here. Extremely disappointed.

Whenever we travel through Bakersfield we ALWAYS score Grandmas tamales, we pre call in and they set us up; 4 dozen. We don't live near so stock up when we can. Super nice employees too.
