Grand Hot Pot

Half and Half Broth was pretty good. Angus Beef slices were good also. Some of the other items such as the Seafood balls were so-so. They also don’t give much for what you pay for, but that’s somewhat fair since it’s Park Ridge. I would put this at a 3-star, but the service was great!

Honestly wasn't very authentic. We only went once and maybe we caught them on a bad night, but the beef had clearly been frozen and became really chewy, the ingredient quality was middling, and there just generally wasn't much flavor. Everything was fine, not awful, but not great. The price seemed a bit steep for this quality, I could spend a similar amount for a much better experience at other hot pot places.

We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Two staff were leaning on the counter. They did not acknowledge us for about 10 minutes, even as they dropped bowls and utensils on our table. Cocktails were not available. Shrimp was not available. The Rolled Ice Cream was not available. The wine bottle we ordered was awful. The label was peeling off, the wine was corked and the metal wrapper left on. The food was not great and the service was awful. Our bill for 2 adults and 2 children was almost $200. By 6:30 almost all tables were full and two staff running around. Three others were sitting at a table chatting.
