Gowdy’s Seafood of Gary

Not bad but not really good either. The fish was fried to hard so when I bit into it all of the breading fell off. The fries were good. You can skip this trip to the hood because for so so food and non existing customer service, it is not worth the money. There is a McDonald's on every corner folks with better fries.

Our order was wrong and the portions were small. When I called back to report the issue, the person at the register who took our order had to argue with the cook about the order was wrong. The cook had the nerve to claim to had given us extra food when our order was short items we paid for. Very unprofessional, on top of all of our sides were cold. They didn't even warm them for the order. This was our first time at this restaurant, I try to support black business but you really need to do better. Maybe I will try again another time but, was disappointed ????.

Back in the day this restaurant chain was called Salamon's, they have had a few restaurant name changes and revisions but they still retained that same great taste from back in the day. My favorite is the whiting fish which I get the large special every time. I have no complaints on the fish. I gave a 4 star because of the fries, which are good, but I wish could be better. But nevertheless Gowdy's is definitely good eats and I recommend stopping in for a bite.
