Gondolier of Halls - Italian Restaurant & Pizza

Very tasty Italian dishes in a cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and attentive; the lady manning the register seemed distracted and not interested in anything other than chitchatting with coworkers. Still, I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and craving some Italian meals.

Went for lunch and had the Hickory Burger. First mistake was my fault - I didn’t read the menu carefully and didn’t realize it didn’t come with cheese. It’s the only hickory burger I’ve ordered anywhere that didn’t come with cheese, which is odd to me, but still completely my fault for not noticing it on the menu. I asked for a slice of cheese and they brought me one. It was a little weird to have a slice of cold cheese on a hot burger, but it’s ok. The bun seemed fresh and was toasted well. The burger patty itself was pretty disappointing. It was grey, under seasoned, dry, and flavorless. The barbecue sauce did little to hide it. The bacon was ok, and there were two small fried onion rings on it. It was a mediocre burger at best, and that’s being generous. The fries were hot and crispy so that was nice. Our server was friendly and attentive enough. I wasn’t super impressed and will probably pick somewhere else next time.

Went for spaghetti. Hubby got the baked lasagna. Both were very good. I recommend the meat sauce over the Marinara, though. Really good meatballs! Yummy bread sticks. On a return visit hubby tried the Gondolier pizza, plentiful and delicious! Excellent service, friendly and attentive. Decent priced food. Oh, and don't forget the carrot cake, mmm...????????????
