Wow! What a hidden gem! It was my first time trying Peruvian food. I loved it! I had a take on fish and chips. It had yuka potatoes, regular potatoes, fried fish, fried shrimp, and calamari..the sauce was so fresh and vibrant! My plate's presentation was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I should have gotten an extra sauce to really saturate all the deliciousness on my plate.Its a little pricey, however they do give you large quantities on your plate.
Our family has been going to Golden Llama since it opened and we were pretty satisfied with the quality and service. This past weekend we went there to eat after a long time and the quality has diminished extremely. I ordered the normal, a "Ceviche mixto and a Papa a la Huncaina", it was the worst that I've ever had at a Peruvian Restaurant. THE FOOD WAS NOT FRESH, THE POTATOES WERE OLD AND THE CEVICHE WAS COMPLETELY DISTATEFUL! I think that they changed the owners/chef. I will definitely not go there again. The problem is that here in South Carolina people are too scared to voice out their opinion in regards to quality, but if this restaurant would be open for example, in Florida, it would have no business.
Hidden gem alert. Greenville wake and support your Golden Llama amazing food and lady at the counter was friendly. I’ll be back.
